Internationally known for his poetically blurred images, Kyungwoo Chun has an unconventional way of dealing with time in his photographs and performances through which he explores different aspects of human relationships and communication.

Kyungwoo Chun lives and works in Seoul. After studying Photography in Korea he moved to Germany in 1992, where he studied and started to work on his art projects in Europe. He has carried out numerous exhibitions around the world and among his most recent projects the one-man shows ’Nueve editoras’ at JosédelaFuente (2015) and “The Most Beautiful Weight” at the  Musée d’Art Contemporain du Val-de-Marne (2016)  stand out. He has received several grants and awards such as the Danish Art Council grant DIVA in 2007, Art Council Korea grant, grant by Ivory Press, UK, Hanmi Photography Award from the Museum of Photography Seoul in 2007, and the Public Art Competition in Bremen in 2008. His work is represented in museum collections such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Gemeentemuseum, The Hague, Museet for Fotokunst Odense (DK), the Museum of Photography in Seoul, the Museum fuer Kunst und Gewerbe de Hamburgo, among others.
